One day in 1910

Challans organizes every summer, in July and August, four Thursdays of old-fashioned fairs.

1600 volunteers are mobilized to prepare this gigantic fresco of the past.

In a constant concern for authenticity and festivity, Challans renew with ancestral gestures and relieves the local habits and customs.

Mixed with the actors, the visitor is permanently and everywhere in the heart of the action. The carnival also surprises with its period games. Children can discover the school of their great-grandparents.

At the end of the day, the party continues with the fair with the sound of the accordion and the rhythm of its games. The newlyweds and their procession arrive at the communal hall where the canopy is set up to welcome the guests of the wedding maraîchine, a lively banquet that will make you spend an unforgettable evening discovering the tradition of the region.

The last campsite in the street before the ocean. Such a great family holiday, recharging our batteries in this peaceful, relaxing campsite. We received a very warm welcome and the staff are always available. Lovely footpaths to walk along the coast. Without a doubt we would recommend this campsite.
